Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Kort- right of Wellington avenue, have recently entertained Lt. James Measday of Fort Ben- ning, Ga. Lt. Measday is the fiance of their daughter, Miss Gertrude Kortright, a Penn State graduate who is now as- sociated with the Department of Agriculture, New York. The Kortrights and Lt. Measday spent five days at Mantoloking. |

On Monday, November 8th, in St. Rose of Lima Church, Miss Gertrude Mary Kortright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Kortright of West Wellington avenue, became the bride of 2nd Lt. James Paul Measday, U. S. Infantry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Measday of Westwood, N. J. Rev. Father James B. Coyle officiated at a 10:30 mass. A reception followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. Haig of Highland ave- nue. Miss Jean Evans of Drexel Hill, Pa., was the bride's only attendant. David White of Bos- ton, Mass., served at Lt. Meas- day's best man. The bride appeared in a gown of white faille. A coronet of net, trimmed in orange blos- soms held her tulle veil. She carried a prayer book with white orchids. Miss Evans wore a gown of dusty rose and car- ried sweetheart roses. The bride is a graduate of Millburn High School and at- tended the Women's College of North Carolina for two years and was graduated from Penn State College. She was asso- ciated with the Department of Agriculture. Her husband is an alumnus of Westwood High School and Penn State College. He received his commission last April at Fort Benning, Ga. After a wedding trip, the Lieu- tenant and his bride will make their home in Columbia, S. C. |

MEASDAY - Gertrude M. (nee Kortright), age 84, of Denville, N.J., formerly of Toms River and Livingston, N.J., on June 25, 2005, wife of the late James P. Measday and mother of the late Joan Measday, she is survived by her children, sons, Tom, Dan and Jim Measday, daughters, Kathy Johnson, Carol Bates and Judy Lagas, a brother, Robert Kortright, and 12 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday starting at 9 a.m. from The QUINN-HOPPING FUNERAL HOME, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. St. Philomena Church, Livingston. Friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Philomena Church, 396 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, N.J. 07039. |
