Level Zero Processing
(Phase II)
HTTP Server

LZP Phase II was a (successful) prototyping effort to build a telemetry processor capable of handling data rates up to 50Mbps. The system consists of application-specific VLSI hardware in a VME rack and software running under VxWorks on multiple 68040 CPUs. A second rack houses our PDOS-based Spacecraft Data Simulator (SDS).

The HTTP server accessed by the links on this page is running on one of the 68040 cards in the LZP rack. This server, called hope, uses the Tool Command Language (Tcl) to interpret and respond to HTTP requests. hope can currently:

The hope-generated HTML pages make use of Netscape's table extension for laying out status pages and Netscape's server-push extension for periodically updating displayed pages. (My browser was Netscape 1.1N.)

Just my luck! After having its URL advertised on the VxWorks newsgroup, the rarely-used LZP rack has been powered down indefinitely. Sorry! Here are some screen shots from a similar system; the real pages update every 15 seconds.

Level Zero Processor (LZP)

(The LZP rack is down; these links won't get you anywhere.)

Spacecraft Data Simulator (SDS)

(The simulator rack is currently disconnected from the LZP rack, so clicking here won't accomplish anything.)
